Research Philosophy & Interests

My research lies within the field of human-computer interaction. I believe there are many open problems in computing that are best addressed through understanding of human behavior and many pressing problems in society that can be newly addressed through creative applications of computing. My current research interests include developing interactive tools that foster human creativity; systems that improve interruption management, and user interfaces for multiple display environments. If you are interested in any of these research topics, please contact me about project opportunities. I have a few openings for M.S. and Ph.D. students in my group.
